The Transportation practice group hosted the four-hour program on Friday, Nov. 2 at Gila River Arena. RCDM shareholder Tamara Cook served as the emcee, while attorneys Miles Masog and Karl Gruse and other firm staff provided support.
Presentations included a look at emerging technology in trucking, broker’s liability, approaches to a corporate representative deposition and an interactive case evaluation on determining claim value. Additionally, attendees were able to attend a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game and some stayed around until Saturday, Nov. 3 to support RCDM’s participation in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.
“RCDM would like to thank all of the attendees for taking time to attend this ALFA regional seminar,” Cook said. “This was an amazing opportunity for us to provide clients with updates on issues important to their business and valuable insight into industry trends, while also strengthening existing relationships and building new ones. We value our ALFA membership and appreciate all of the organization’s help in making this event a great success.”
In addition to her role as emcee, Cook served as a co-presenter with Whitney Broadwater of Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee, PLLC for the session entitled “Interactive Case Evaluation: What is This Claim Really Worth?” They took hypothetical fact patterns and discussed strategies and tactics including how to apply comparative fault, joint and several liability and medical liens and how low-impact, low-property damage cases can fool experienced lawyers in terms of evaluation.
RCDM is a litigation firm providing the highest levels of legal problem-solving and serving clients for more than 65 years in Phoenix. The Transportation practice group, headed by Cook, primarily focuses on the trucking industry with decades of experience representing local, regional and national motor carriers and product manufacturers in high-profile litigation matters.
